New Zealand's favourite comedy show Moon TV has relocated to the United Sates in an attempt to get a better time slot.
"We feel that the time zone difference may work in our favour. The show will be made over in the States, but will still air in NZ at 10.30pm on TV2, so technically that will be something like 6.30am the day before in New York, when we watch it. It's all very complicated and I don't really want to go into to it over the phone", said producer Leigh Hart from his New York production office.
It is still very much a New Zealand show made by New Zealanders but based in New York. All the most popular and familiar elements including Speed Cooking, and reality shows like the Speedo Cops and the Hamster-man have relocated to the 'Big Apple'
New Zealand's finest the Speedo Cops are doing a pointless exchange scheme with the NYPD, and in an attempt to beat his life-long recession Colin the Hamster-man from Amsterdam has shut down his failing pet store on Dominion road and opened up a new budget pet franchise in Brooklyn. The Late Night Big Breakfast show a TV segment complete with infomercials is purpose built to capitalise on the time zone confusion and will air weekly from a New York high rise hotel. Once again Leigh will be joined on the couch by co-hosts Matai Johnson and Jason Hoyte, hopefully along with a raft of high profile guests like Robert De-Niro.
For the first time we also see behind the scenes action of the show actually getting made, production staff being hired, differences of opinion with U.S television executives and the occasional sex scene. This is must watch TV!
