Chris (Edmund Davies), a young man with learning difficulties, is released from prison after his conviction for the murder of a teenage girl was overturned because of false evidence presented in the original trial.
When Chris returns to his mother and the local community, DI Hazel Norton (Quirke), DS Eve Granger (Redgrave) and DC Ajay Roychowdury (Bhatti) must help find the real killer before he strikes again.
Murderer Brian Wicklow (Kelly) also receives a visit from Eve and Norton, following his stabbing in prison, where he reveals that he knows Jake (Hannah) helped the police find the body of the girl he buried.
Will the teenage murderer be found but, more importantly, is this another of Wicklow's devious schemes?
