What to do: To make the bee hive draw a bee hive shape onto cardboard and cut it out. To decorate the front of the beehive, press a small square of bubble wrap into the paint (or the front of the duplo brick) and then press in onto the beehive. You will get a honeycomb pattern on the hive. Take 2 egg sections from the egg carton. The Queen Bee can be given 2 black antennae by taping 1 piece of pipe cleaner to the top of the head. Twist some cellophane for the wings and tape them in the middle. To make the worker bees, twist some yellow and black pipe cleaners around your finger at the same time to form stripy bees. Use another small piece of black pipe cleaner for antennae. BREAD FLOWER SANDWICHES What you need: Bread Honey Flower cutter Trays Eggs What to do: Take some bread and cut out some flower shapes. Take the flower shapes and make some honey flower sandwiches by spreading some honey from a jar or from some honeycomb. Enjoy eating these honey flowers. Take the left over crusty piece of bread that has had the flower shape cut out of it. Put the slices on a baking tray. Take 1 egg and crack if carefully into the centre of the bread. Try not to break the egg yolk, as it looks a bit like a sunflower. Put the sunflower egg into a moderate oven until bread is browned and egg is cooked. Enjoy eating the sunflower egg sandwich. IDEAS FOR LATER Take a large rectangular piece of material to make a quilt. You can glue / sew smaller pieces of material on top to make your patchwork quilt. Make a cosy bed for your pet kitten or puppy to sleep in. If you don’t have a pet make a cosy bed for a favourite toy.
