You can join the train carriages together using cotton reels. Make some play dough people to take for a ride. Use play dough to make a basket, a suitcase, an umbrella or a cat or dog, É. Anything you would like to make. FRUITS ON TREES • How many other fruits grow on trees? Talk about it with someone and then find pictures of the different fruits in magazines or books. Some of the fruits could be pears, bananas, paw paw, mangoes. Make and Do HOW TO DECORATE BOXES To make decorated boxes you will need: • 6 boxes (the same size) • Brown, red, and yellow modelling clay • A small amount of green and orange cardboard • Yellow feathers Paint one box with brown paint, two boxes with red paint and three boxes with yellow paint. Stack your boxes Ð the three yellow boxes first, then the two red boxes next, and finally the brown box on top. Make small objects to put into your boxes. You could make a small brown clay bear - place it in the brown box. You could make two red clay apples, adding green cardboard stalks Ð place them in the red boxes. Finally, make three yellow clay ducks, adding orange cardboard bills and feathers and place them in the yellow boxes. HOW TO MAKE COCKATOO SAND PICTURES To make a cockatoo sand picture you will need: • 2 large drawings of cockatoos • Dishes of coloured sand • Brush and paste Cover the cockatoo drawings with paste. Sprinkle different coloured sand onto the drawings, then shake the paper to reveal the sand picture underneath. SAND PLAY For sand play you will need: • A large pile of damp sand • Twigs of green leaves • Driftwood • Seedpods Try these sand play ideas. Make a birthday cake by moulding damp sand and adding twigs for the candles. Then you can turn the birthday cake into a castle with a moat. Perhaps you could make a friendly blobby, green monster, with a seedpod mouth, hair made of leaves, and seedpod eyes.
