Ideas for Later
AQUARIUM
• You could visit an aquarium to see all the different fish. Then make a simple box aquarium and create a colourful scene using cellophane, streamers, paper cut out fish, and anything you like.
DIFFERENT SHAPED COOKIES
• Make some cookies in interesting shapes such as round, oblong, star, square and diamond. Decorate them with icing and sprinkles or cream cheese and sultanas.
Make and Do
HOW TO MAKE PLAY DOUGH SHAPES
To make play dough shapes you will need:
• Orange, green, blue and red play dough
• An assortment of animal cutters
Using the dough and cutters, you can make rabbits, fish, horse and mice shapes.
HOW TO MAKE DECORATED STAR COOKIES
To make decorated star cookies you will need:
• A bowl of royal icing (recipe below)
• Red food colouring
• Pre made star biscuits
• Baking paper
• Hundreds and thousands and sprinkles
Firstly, you mix a little food colouring into the icing to make it bright pink. Then you fold a square of baking paper, and rolled it into a cone shape, leaving a small hole at the thin end. Spoon pink icing into the paper cone and squeeze it over the cookies, creating different patterns and shapes.
For the royal icing you will need:
• 300 grams of icing sugar
• 2 egg whites
• 1/3 teaspoon of cream of tartar
Mix the ingredients together until the icing consistency is firm but malleable.
