A polar bear could be made from a soft pillow with sticker eyes and legs formed from the pillow using rubber bands or wool. FIND THE BROWN BEAR • Brown bears hibernate in winter. Find out about this, and look at some storybooks in the library that feature bears. Make and Do To make swirly patterns you will need: • A baking tray full of shaving foam • A spatula • Containers of edicol dye of different colours • Wooden spoon • Paper • Piece of cardboard Smoothed out the foam with a spoon, put a little of various colours onto the foam, swirled it with the thin end of wooden spoon, put a piece of paper on the foam, press lightly and then peel it off. Then you wipe the foam away with the piece of cardboard, creating a colourful marbled picture. To make flowers you will need: • Fluoro plastic cups • Paste • Cotton wool balls • Marbled paper, made earlier • Scissors and sticky tape • Straws Teo added a cotton wool centre, with paste, to the fluoro plastic cup (cut into petals) Then he folded the marbled paper over twice and cut a petal shape, adding a straw stem to finish the flower.
