Ideas for Later
MAKE YOUR OWN ELEPHANT SCRAPBOOK
• Collect pictures of elephants from old magazines and birthday cards. You can use the pictures as a guide to paint your own elephant pictures to put in your scrapbook
WORKING ELEPHANTS
• Elephants are very strong and in some countries are used to help move large objects. See if you can find out where this happens, and a picture of an elephant working.
Make and Do
Jemima: “Monkey”
An elasticised tail, ears on a headband and a painted box face for a Monkey Dress up.
For Humpty, “Lion” an elasticised shaggy wool mane
Darcy became a zebra with a piece of stripy material over his body.
The elephant family (Little Ted, Big Ted and Maurice) have an assortment of floppy paper ears, and stockings filled with paper for trunks.
How to make a matching game:
Start by collecting pictures (These could be found in old magazines) and past them onto cardboard.
For example:
• A puppy, a lead and collar and a bone
• A baby, a bottle and a nappy
• A pot plant, watering can, and soil
These objects need to mixed up and then matched, with the emphasis on caring.
