You can make some interesting footprints in some wet sand. Look at a book about animals to see the different shapes and sizes of feet that different animals have.
Visit a museum and see what they have on display.
Go on a Fossil hunt. Bury some plastic dinosaurs in sand and let other children take turns going on a fossil hunt. Give children spoons to dig up sand and brushes to sweep away the sand very gently. Help children to identify what dinosaur fossil they have found by looking carefully at characteristics.
