Time:
Share experiences from the past by looking at baby photos, baby toys, photos of relatives and friends. Help the child to understand concepts of the past, present and future. Find relevant personal associations - "that is what you liked to play with when you were a baby" "that is me when I went to school" or find some clothes that are now too small; talk about the time "before you were born"; and the time to come "when you go to big school" etc.
Family Stories:
Look at family album and use one to tell a real story about what something that happened back "then". It could be about the child's own experience or "when mum was a little girl".
