Ideas for Later
Have fun with your own improvised orchestra using household objects that are safe to tap and bang and scrape. Experiment with different ways to produce sound on the same object and also using the same technique on different objects… Have fun with a rhythmic conversation with a friend by echoing the rhythm that they create. It is a good idea to start simply with just a few taps and then introduce more complex rhythms as you become more familiar with the rhythm. Simple percussion instruments can also be created from recycled materials using plastic bottles and rice etc and taped at the top to avoid spillage. Tapping stocks can be made from lengths of dowel cut from old broom handles and a large can or bucket up turned can become a fun drum for outside.
EXPERIMENT WITH ZIGZAGS
Try zigzag dancing, walking, running or drawing zigzags on paper or in damp sand with a stick… a giant zig-zag can be drawn on the sand at the beach for a fun running course.
