Depending on their developmental level children may or may not understand the concept of opposites. This series selects one example of opposites - big and little. This is explored in concrete ways throughout the week.
Each day the big and little calendar demonstrates big and little in different ways. Something big is pulled from a little hole, a big balloon is deflated to a little balloon, a little piece of folded paper is unfolded to a big piece, a spiky ball is increased in size and little creatures are found in a big garden.
Growing, size, space, shapes, insects, animals, dinosaurs and difference are all discovered through art, craft, games and music.
Children enjoy the nonsense of exaggerated props. One of the told stories illustrates the dilemma of getting the wrong sized clothing in a funny way children will be sure to enjoy.
