Glastonbury is under pressure this year. Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis have had to defend some odd bookings (Shakin' Stevens, Gilbert O'Sullivan, the virulently uncool James Blunt and, most controversially, hip-hop megastar Jay-Z) and have been hit by slow ticket sales, but the first day looks like solid festival fare. Editors and We Are Scientists kick off on BBC3, with the Fratellis and Estelle to follow; lurking there might be preppy popsters Vampire Weekend, UK number-one single act the Ting Tings, or witty piano man Ben Folds.
