Andrew arrives in the fast paced, star studded city of Los Angeles where the variety of food varies as much as the diversity of the people who live there. Andrew's first stop is at a trendy Culver City restaurant that's leading the way in Gastro Pub Fare. The Filling Station is owned by Chef Ben Ford, son of actor Harrison Ford. Ben gives Andrew a lesson in cooking from head to tail as he confits a whole piglet in fat. Andrew samples many parts of the pig, including head cheese, deep fried pig ears, and deep fried pig eye balls. Andrew lands next at a popular restaurant inside the Santa Monica Airport. At Typhoon, he eats scorpions, white sea worms, and chambai ants. The tour of LA's food scene takes a healthy turn when Andrew drops into Mr. Wisdom's Hare Krishna Restaurant and Juice Bar to try a wheatgrass barley combo shot and a fermented mixture of wheatberry paste mixed with water.
After that Andrew arrives at the home of Raw Foods chef and author Ani Phyo, where he dines on raw lasagna made of sunflower seeds and flax meal and a sun burger made of flax, sunflower seeds and hemp nut. Andrew follows up all that healthy eating by sampling some of the city's ethnic restaurants and street food. In Koreatown, he tries Soondae, a blood sausage served with pork products, like tongue, lung, and liver. Next, he tastes the Oki Bomb, a hot dog loaded with toppings and wrapped in tortillas. The street food crawl ends at a taco truck with a cow tongue sandwich. After that, Andrew heads to Beverly Hills to have a seafood dinner made by celebrity chef Nobu. Octopus, monkfish and shrimp are on the menu. Andrew gets a taste of a traditional Mexican food during a family dinner with the Cabrals. Some of the item: grasshoppers, menudo, and corn smut. Andrew's food tour of LA ends with a meal prepared by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. Tempura chicken testicles, duck's feet and cockscomb are just a few of the foods he eats, ending the LA experience on a high note.
