The Bible contains some of the greatest stories of mass destruction to ever befall mankind, where God's Wrath set off disasters from Noah's Flood to Sodom and Gomorrah and the Ten Plagues of Egypt. While scientists now believe they can explain the natural forces behind these Biblical tales, that does not mean the modern world can escape from the kind of events that decimated the ancient world.
