Clare sets up 'The Book Group' in an effort to meet some new and interesting people, unfortunately for her, those who arrive at the first session are clearly not the friends she hoped to meet. Kenny is very shy. Rab is very outspoken. Janice is quiet, Dirka and Fist are slutty and Barney is a well-educated snob, and poor Clare is just trying to make some new friends. As events transpire, it's revealed they're all just searching for the same thing, they're all lonely people, who need each other's company. But as the weeks and month's go on, will the Book Group be able to keep itself together under the weight of all these ego's?
