Having agreed to join with The Tick and his crime-fighting team, Arthur must now tell his family. Arriving at their restaurant headquarters, he nervously prepares to debut his new superhero uniform for his mom, Bea, and sister Dot. When it appears that Arthur's explanation is failing to persuade them, The Tick steps in to help out, but it still fails to change their minds. And when Arthur heads to their hotel to try again, he's ambushed by Francis Peacock, a deprogrammer who specializes in rehabilitating people who think they are superheroes. Following a week of squaring off against an unruly clogged the toilet, The Tick realizes that Arthur hasn't come home. After sending a letter to his mom that makes clear his unhappiness with the situation, Arthur calls The Tick for help. And on the clogged and gurgling toilet's advice, The Tick rounds up Batmanuel and Captain Liberty to liberate his new partner. Meanwhile, from an office hiding place, Arthur sees Francis having trouble keeping his own superhero fantasies under control. As The Tick and company are assembling for an assault, Arthur's letter gives Bea a reason to change her mind and decide to rescue her son. When the deprogrammer's backsliding makes it impossible for her and Dot to see Francis, Bea is happy to join The Tick, Batmanuel and Captain Liberty in their mission. Fending off the facility's burly attendants, The Tick and Bea free Arthur from his cell before exposing Francis as a fraud and returning to their headquarters to resume their fight against evil.
