Lou and Alice bully Diedre. The dance marathon begins and the women are dead on their feet after only the first night. At Shane's custody hearing, he says he would rather live with ""Auntie Joan"" than his father. Ann tells Heather that Marie has made a statement implicating her in drug smuggling and aiding her escape. Shane is taken away from his father, but is made a ward of the state rather than being given into Joan's custody.
