Bea and Judy give Kathy's cell a thorough check for any more booby-traps. Inspector Grace arrives to see Kathy. Vera is most unpleasant to him and explains to Terry that she's had dealings with him in the past. Dinah eavesdrops on this conversation. Bea and Judy are concerned about Lizzie, who is moping about and won't reveal why. Terry arrives to take Kathy to Grace. Kathy doesn't want to go and Bea tells her she doesn't have to. Terry then points out that if she doesn't go the police will certainly suspect she knows more than she does. Bea concedes to this point and Kathy goes with Terry. While in the corridor, the riot alarm is sounded. Terry leaves Kathy behind a locked gate while he goes to investigate. Dinah sneaks up behind Kathy and smashes her head into the gate twice. Terry finds her a minute later unconscious. Jim tells the women in the laundry that Kathy has been bashed. Bea is getting pretty irritated with the unknown assailant. Grace wants to know why the riot alarm went off and why Kathy hasn't been brought to him. He informs Vera that he has plenty of other things to do. Vera suggests that he go and do them. Jim comes on the scene and also stalls Grace. Grace gets fed up and leaves. Terry follows him outside and offers to try and find out information from Kathy, who, he informs the inspector, was attacked during the false alarm. At meal time, Bea questions Dinah about her whereabouts during the assault. Dinah claims to have been in D block but both Bea and Judy are highly suspicious. Jim questions Vera about the incident. The similarities to Margo's bashing concern him and he wants to make sure Terry isn't "cultivating informers" again. Vera blurts out that Terry and Kathy were married and then rushes out leaving Jim in utter amazement. Dinah Walford leaves Wentworth as Alison Marie Page is inducted for a three month sentence for theft. Erica speaks to Alison, who quite evidently is not prepared to adjust to the situation. She is a "nice" middle-class housewife with a "nice" family and cannot understand being locked up with "These kind" of women. The next morning, Vera yells at Alison for not making her bed properly. Bea comes in and very nicely shows her how. She also lays down the law - but nicely. Nonetheless, Alison does much whimpering and trembling. Erica calls in Terry and confronts him about his past marriage. She believes Kathy should be transferred, but Terry talks her out of it, claiming he can watch her in Wentworth and keep her safe. Lizzie is still down in the dumps when Kathy returns from the infirmary, bruised but fine. Bea lets Kathy know she believes the basher to have been Dinah, but, since Dinah has left, there should be no more trouble. Alison meets with Meg and begs to be released. Meg tells her that's impossible and Alison shudders. Meg suggests Alison seek help for her gambling addiction while inside to help keep her from stealing to cover her debts. Alison just shudders some more. When Jim brings Alison into the laundry, Bea makes a rare request to use her phone privileges. Jim agrees, leaving Judy to help Alison. Judy is very friendly, but Doreen takes an instant dislike to her. Bea telephones Sid and tells him about Lizzie's condition. He agrees to come see her immediately. Erica's been asked to speak at some club, and Meg suggests its an excellent opportunity for Erica to bring up her idea for an attendance centre. Sid arrives and finds out from Meg that Lizzie's parole has been denied. He believes this is what is bothering her. Erica arranges for them to meet in the garden. Inspector Grace comes to see Kathy again. Kathy is describing her bashing to a shuddering Alison when Terry arrives to take her to see Grace. Grace drops a lot of names to Kathy, who is vaguely familiar with some of them but knows nothing of their criminal connections. Lizzie confesses to Sid that she feels marrying him would cause trouble among his friends and family. Sid doesn't care about any of that and Lizzie accepts his proposal. Sid then gives her a diamond engagment ring - reset from his wife's. The women notice the rock on her finger at once and a joyous Lizzie accepts their congratulations. Erica tells Sid that being married might greatly help Lizzie next parole hearing. Grace feels that Kathy is truthful in her statements, but Terry expresses doubt. Lizzie visits Alison in her cell and, even though Alison is horribly rude, coaxes her to come to the rec room. In the rec room, Doreen and Lorna have an arguement over what TV program to watch and Alison has a breakdown. A disgusted Doreen and Lorna turn on Alison, who Judy then tries to comfort. Alison pushes her away in hysterics and Judy runs to get Bea. The other women begin to descend on Alison...
