Geoff's paediatrician-friend Colin is coming to be there wehn Kate's delivering her baby. It's a beautiful girl, Scarlet Louisa. Kate discovers Colin is an alcoholic but he makes her swear not to tell Geoff. Scarlet is seriously ill and the only one who can operate is Colin. Kate gets hysterical and tells everyone Colin has a drinkingproblem. Colins swears he is sober and since there is no option he operates. The operation is a success and Scarlet will be fine!
