A man wearing a gas mask picks flowering plants from a foggy forest, when he is set upon by a group of the natives. They cut the hose, and watch him die, gasping. Shortly, the Sliders land in the forest and all but Maggie (Kari Wuhrer) start coughing and gasping. She leads them out of the fog, which ends at the forest line. Deep within the fog, the natives, accompanied by Colonel Rickman (Neil Dickson), watch their struggle. Later, when Maggie returns from exploring the fog, Quinn (Jerry O'Connell) berates her for leaving the group and demands that she stay with the team. They enter a nearby rustic town, inhabited by a simple, unmodern people and they encounter Adra (Oona Hart), a blind seer, as she reads tarot cards. When she touches Quinn's face, she gets a vision -- he is a sacrificial victim for the natives -- and warns them to leave town.
