Charlie Daniels first made a name for himself in the 1960s writing a song for Elvis Presley (""It Hurts Me"") and playing on recording sessions behind Bob Dylan (Nashville Skyline) and others. He since has become a Southern rock legend best known for the rousing fiddle song ""The Devil Went Down to Georgia"" and his annual Volunteer Jam charity concerts.
