The show opens with ladders surrounding the ring and down the aisle. Edge then comes down to start The Cutting Edge and he says that tonight's show will be about the upcoming Ladder Match against Jeff Hardy. Hardy then comes down and climbs up a ladder. Edge tells him what he's going to do to him at Extreme Rules, but Hardy says that nothing Edge says matters. Edge then slams the title belt into Hardy's head and shoves the ladder over.
Match #1: John Morrison vs Shelton Benjamin. Morrison pins Benjamin.
Chris Jericho comes out and bad mouths the fans for liking Rey Mysterio.
Match #2: R-Truth vs Chris Jericho. Jericho pins Truth. After the match, Rey Mysterio attacks Jericho.
Match #3: CM Punk vs Umaga. Punk pins Umaga.
Todd Grisham and Jim Ross are in the ring to run down the Extreme Rules card.
Match #4: Guest Ref: Maria: Melina, Eve & Gail Kim vs Michelle McCool, Alicia Fox & Layla. Layla pins Melina.
Match #5: The Great Khali w/Runjin Singh vs Dolph Ziggler. Khali pins Ziggler.
Match #6: Rey Mysterio vs Edge. Edge pins Mysterio.
After the match, Edge pulls out a ladder to hit Mysterio, but Jeff Hardy comes down and hits the ladder with a chair, then hits the Twist of Fate onto the Ladder. Hardy then sets up the ladder and climbs up it to deliver a leg drop from the top onto Edge.
