Luis is a loving husband and father of two who admittedly doesn't know how to screw in a light bulb. Whenever something needs to get done around the house, he just pays someone to do it for him. Julie, his extremely patient wife, thinks he spends way too much money on hiring out jobs that he should be capable of doing himself. Luis wants to hire someone to redo their family room, and Julie isn't letting him.
Designer Deborah steps in with help from contractors Sparky, Danny, Jennie, Justin, and host Marc to create the ultimate compromise for the family. With limited time, the In a Fix crew attempts to create a Brazilian themed space that reflects Luis's heritage where both parents and children can co-exist. They turn the existing cluttered family room into a living room where Luis and Julie can relax, and a kid's room where their young children can hang out and play with their toys.
