Beacon Hill was considered to be an Americanized version of the British TV series, Upstairs Downstairs. While Beacon Hill debuted to monster ratings, the show dwindled and was cancelled after only 6 episodes, making it one of the most monumental flops in TV drama. The premise was good enough though: a rich and powerful family, the Lassiters, who lived on Boston's fashionable Beacon Hill (technically, Louisburg Square, Boston's answer to Belgravia in London) and their rambunctious servants. The idea was a good one, but it was not a winner like Upstairs Downstairs. After six episodes, the show was cancelled, but most of the actors went on to bigger things anyway!
