This Grade I listed, Jacobean building is situated in Kiplin, North Yorkshire, next to the River Swale in the Vale of Mowbray.Built in the 1620's, it was owned by George Calvert, Secretary of state for James I and founder of Maryland, USA. Many paranormal stories are linked to the hall, including - Crying heard in a drawing room, a woman in Victorian clothing seen on a staircase and a Second World War airman spotted in a kitchen. Plus many different smells, like pipe smoke, in the kitchens.
