Julie (LORI SINGER) has a rude awakening when students at the School for Performing Arts react unkindly to her small-town, mid-western attitudes. A stranger in The Big Apple, she finds herself harrassed, confused and challenged to survive in a culture where street smarts are more important than a Phd. Discouraged, frustrated and lonely, Julie finds both strength, and, ultimately, friendship in a confrontation with her greatest antagonist.
