Three years have passed since the events of Crest of the Stars. A cease-fire was called, and both sides exploited these uneasy, but somewhat peaceful, years to rebuild their vast fleets. Now, with the forces of the Triple Alliance surrounding them, the Abh force assembles for a daring counterattack. The galactic war is about to begin, again!
In the midst of all of this, Lafiel becomes captain on the brand new assault ship Basroil and Jinto finishes his training to become a supply officer. He soon joins Lafiel’s crew. They set out to join a large fleet with the mission of protecting the ever-important Laptic Gate from a force 15 times larger than their own! And to bring even more worries, their new fleet commander is from the Bebous family, a family notorious for their "Spectacular Insanity".
