It all gets too much for Roy, he almost doesn't open the cafe but Hayley makes him and asks him to go down and make her proud . . . however, a visit from Charlie and Jason soon stirs Roy up again and feeling that everyone pities him, Roy throws all his customers and Vera out of the cafe! Seeing that her husband is clearly distressed, Hayley tries to comfort him . . . Adam returns sooner than expected from Scotland. Neither his father nor grandfather are too pleased to see him. Mike tells Adam that they need to talk but leaves him with Ken while he goes to a meeting. At which point, Blanche has to hold Ken back from going off on one again about the importance of education. Later, Blanche tells Fred that she hopes Adam will be staying at home with his family. Meanwhile, Sarah asks Adam if he came back because of her but he assures her that he came back because he didn't want to be there - no other reason . . .
