In the 1950s, the first suburban homes were a cozy 750 square feet. Today, they've ballooned to more than 2,500 square feet. But somehow we're still running out of space. One third of Americans hoard so much "stuff" that they can't even fit their cars into their garage, and the combined acreage of storage units in America is larger than the state of Pennsylvania. How does the size of our homes and the stuff we fill them with change the landscape of our country?
