Birgitte Nyborg's government is about to introduce the environmental component of its major reform package, "Our Common Future". Everything has been negotiated with the government, but Birgitte wants the Liberals and New Right to vote for the bill, so that her political legacy will remain for many years, rather than being abolished as soon as the right wing regains power.However, the support of the right-of-centre parties comes at a price; they want the new environmental requirements towards agriculture and industry deferred for 10 years. Birgitte accepts, but this causes the prime mover behind the agreement, Climate and Energy Minister Amir Diwan, to dig in his heels.
