On a holiday trip, while taking pictures of the impressive waves on the North Shore of Hawaii, a huge wave breaks over a couple's heads, dragging Hugh Alexander over a cliff and 20 feet into the wild surf below. Thinking he found a safe place to wait, Hugh swam into the Moi Hole. With pounding waves flowing in, the Moi Hole, made of volcanic rocks and sharp as knives, becomes deadly and hardly anyone has ever come out alive.
As lifeguards fight against the roiling ocean to rescue Hugh, their jet ski fills with water and Hugh is left alone with his last bit of strength fading. How does Hugh survive the seemingly unsurvivable?
