How do human minds and brains differ from those of other primates? What are the core microevolutionary processes related to
the origins of the human mind—those propelling changes in relative size of key brain regions, asymmetries between right and
left hemispheres, spindle neurons, or the expression of developmental genes that shape the brain? What is evo-devo, and how can evolutionary psychology can help to explain both sexual differences in human behavior and intergroup relations? These key questions underlie the current lecture, featuring exciting new science and providing a challenge to the view that modern human minds are the sole products of cultural evolution.
