Mereta (Ellen Woglom) and Al (David Ramsey) find the perfect adoptive father for a foster child in need of an organ transplant, but their plan is derailed by a Florida law that prevents gay people from adopting and Garza (Jimmy Smits) and his team take the case. Elsewhere, a man from Lucindas (Carly Pope) past makes his unwelcome presence known, and Eddie (Jesse Bradford) is forced to make a choice between the team and his own professional future. Melora Hardin also stars.
