The show sees five teams of two, each representing the states of New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland, competing against each other to "transform an ordinary home into an instant restaurant complete with theme and table decorations for one pressure-cooker night".
In each episode teams serve a three-course meal to be judged by the other teams and celebrity chefs Pete Evans and Manu Feildel. The two highest scoring teams then move to the finals, where they compete in a custom-designed restaurant space. The winners of the series walk away with $100,000 in prize money.
