This flight across the sun-kissed coast of Mediterranean France starts in the foothills of the Pyrenees. After visiting the modern marvel of the Odeillo solar power station, we see vestiges of France’s former glory in the nearby forts and castles of Mont Louis and Cathar. Following the Canal Du Midi we arrive at the warm shores of the sea at Narbonne. Sticking close to the shoreline, we then head east to Montpellier and struggle to keep up with Europe’s fastest train to Avignon. The ancient port of Marseille is next, with its eclectic mix of culture and fascinating history of crime and corruption. Changing the tone, we then get a chance to see up close the lifestyle of the rich and famous at St Tropez, before heading on to Grasse and Nice. Monaco is our final stop, and sums up the opulent lifestyle of the people who choose to live on the French Riviera.
