Phil Lloyd (Myles Barlow) and Trent O'Donnell (Director) could not afford to fly an Australian actor to Hanoi, Vietnam to play a drug mule named Dave. They decide to walk around and ask strangers if they are from Australia and if they are willing to play the part. Dave was later re-named 'Ricardo'.
