The first series showed a group of 16 British young people stranded on the Cook Islands who had to learn how to survive. The second series which began in January 2001, took a group of 17 British youths and stranded them this time on a uninhabited island called Nuku in the South Pacific. It was with this series that the small mini-series Shipwrecked: Extra. The third series broadcast through November of 2001 to December, also known as Shipwrecked International, saw a group of youngsters from around the world stranded in Fiji. This series also featured now reality tv star Jeff Brazier as a contestant.
