Trimbole: The Real Underbelly is a gripping, real-life documentary that reveals the detail of Robert Trimbole’s criminal network and his close association with the infamous Calabrian Mafia of the Griffith wine-growing region.
It’s the latest film from award-winning journalist and documentary maker Janine Hosking, who won critical acclaim last year with her high-rating documentary Schapelle Corby: The Hidden Truth screened by Nine. Trimbole: The Real Underbelly screens at 8.30pm tomorrow night (Monday) on the Nine Network.
Hosking’s documentary is a comprehensive and powerful account of Trimbole’s activities, digging deep behind the dramatisation of Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities to explore his profound role in multi-million dollar drug importation and trafficking across Australia and his involvement in contracting murders on enemies within and outside his crime network.
