What is Richmond Hill about?
Welcome to the Richmond Hill guide at TV Tome. This twice weekly soap originally launched in Australia in February 1988 and was billed as Sydney's answer to Melbourne's 'Neighbours' which was also airing on Network 10 at the same time of 'Richmond Hill's launch. Both shows were made by the Grundy Organisation. Screened on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30pm, the show starred some very high profile actors & actresses, but the show's biggest mistake was that it was far too bland. Notable stars were Maggie Kirkpatrick, fresh from her role as Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson in 'Prisoner' appeared here as Ivy Hackett. Another ex-Wentworth inmate, Amanda Muggleton (Chrissie Latham) took the role of Connie Ryan. Gwen Plumb, Ada in 'The Young Doctors' played Mum Foote who took in wayward children and Paula Duncan, who seemingly appeared in everything Australian in the 70's & 80's played depressed and neurotic Janet Bryant.
