Joe Laski has run out of pig food and has asked Joshua Jones to bring him a new load on the 'Delilah'.
In the meantime, Wilton Cashmore has just installed a new burglar alarm and when he tries it out for the first time, he can't shut it off.
Joe's tractor won't start and now has to use a pram to get the pig food up to the farm. Joshua Jones brings up a story about a robber named 'Mad Jack' and about how his ghost visits Joe's barn once a year. The children decide to stay the night to try and catch him.
