Lady Lovelylocks awakens one morning to discover that her precious pixietails and those of Maidens Fairhair and Curlycrown are missing. Shining Glory tells her that every pixietail in the kingdom has embarked on a special pilgrimage that occurs every 100 years. Lady rides off to protect her now vulnerable friends, but Duchess Ravenwaves beats her to their sanctuary and steals Pixie Sparkle, Pixie Shine, and Pixie Beauty. Lady and Silkymane manage to rescue their friends with the help of the other pixietails - Ravenwaves's pursuit of her rival causes the two of them to fall into some rapids. Lady Lovelylocks saves Ravenwaves, and in payment Duchess Ravenwaves lets her go instead of seizing the opportunity to cut off her magic hair, reasoning to Hairball that there's always next time.
