Accidentally freed from 5000 year long imprisonment, a band of Demons return to the city of Mariner Bay, built upon the ground they once called their homeland. Commanded by a creature called Diabolico, and working towards the return of their leader, Queen Bansheera, the Demons plot to wipe out the humans and reclaim their rightful property. Meanwhile, a secret government agency known as Lightspeed becomes aware of the Demons return, and recruits a team of five late-teens/early adult men and women, each an expert in a specific field (a firefighter, a stunt pilot, an extreme sports enthusiast, a diver, and a nurse in training), to be the team of Power Rangers to rescue Mariner Bay from this menace.
