As a result, he was constantly rejected by women and never had a serious girlfriend. For the first time, ""Extreme Makeover"" psychologist Catherine Selden appears on the show to shepherd James through the pain of his past. In an effort to get his life on the right track, James wanted an extreme makeover to gain the confidence to return to school and find a career path.
