Angel moves to L.A., seeking a purpose in the City of Angels. There, he meets Doyle, his half-human, half-demon spiritual advisor, who gives him direction. Doyle leads Angel to Russell Winters, a rich and powerful vampire, preying on aspiring actresses.
When Winters sets his eyes on Angel's old Sunnydale cohort Cordelia, Angel saves the girl, confronts Winters at his lawyer's office, Wolfram & Hart, and does some major re-vamping. This is the first of many confrontations Angel will have with Wolfram & Hart.
