The sleuth investigates when her old friend Father Gorman is brutally murdered after visiting the dying Mrs Davis. Using a list of names sent by Gorman moments before his death, Marple heads to London in an effort to bring the guilty party to justice. After finding an identical list in Mrs Davis's lodgings, she is drawn to The Pale Horse Inn, where she discovers a sinister world of occult practices.
