Tohru discovers the Sohma family secret, to which the thirteen members of the Sohma family are possessed by the vengeful spirits of the animals of the Chinese Zodiac and that they transform if embraced by the opposite gender. After Yuki confronts Tohru concerning the family secret, he mentions that her memory of the family secret might be erased. Later on, Shigure tells everyone that he went to see Akito Sohma, the head of the Sohma family, who has entrusted Tohru with the Sohma secret. It is later revealed that Shigure registered Kyo for high school, forcing Kyo to live with the others.
