Captain Robert Falcon Scott of England and Roald Amundsen of Norway race the elements and each other to be the first to plant a flag at the world's South Pole. Despite the perception that the British were sure to beat the Norwegians, Scott's expedition led to disaster and death in the middle of the icy wilderness.
